The Gargano is the wonders promontory: by crossing this area you will be astonished by the natural beauties you can see. Almost 130 chilometers of coast, marine grottos, cliffs, bays… a mandatory stop for who visit the promontory.

A luxuriant nature in the Gargano's hinterland, a wood made by high trees, among the most ancient in Italy. In other places the green is so luxuriant that melts with the trees themselves and seems like a big green wall crossed only by little streets.

Not so far from the coast there is the Foresta Umbra, among Vico del Gargano, Monte Sant'Angelo, Cagnano Varano, Vieste, Peschici and Rodi Garganico. The Foresta Umbra develops for about 11.000 hectares and it includes: brooms, Aleppo pines, beeches, lindens, chestnuts, oaks and yews among the most ancient in Italy. Some of them seems to be more than 2000 years old; among them, the Zappino dello Scorsone (700 years old) and the Zappino of Don Francesco (a little bit younger).

Interesting is also the fauna, that includes: roe deers, martens, hedgehogs, foxes, cuckoos, ospreys, swifts, doves and turtle doves.
